A quiet base between shifts.
Everything a working guest needs and nothing they don't. Clean lines, dark materials and a bed that actually lets you sleep.
Some places have sea views. Ours looks east over a power station, a factory and a whole lot of warehouses on Kvarnvägen, with a bird's-eye view of the roundabout to the south. Honestly, we wouldn't trade it.

Why “Square”?
Locals have always called the house Fyrkanten, “the square”, after its geometric style and funkis architecture. So when it became a place to stay, the name more or less picked itself.
Finland keeps being ranked the happiest country in the world, and back in 1995 Nykarleby was named the happiest town in Finland. We like to think it stuck.
A house with many lives
- Bike repair shop
- Nail factory
- File and rasp cleaning
- The bar for art students, back when Novia had its campus in Nykarleby
- Today: a manufacturing company downstairs, the apartment upstairs.
Be first in line.
We open in spring 2027. Tell us a little about your needs and we'll get in touch before bookings open. No commitment.
